In 2004, Land Rover Experience West Country secured access to hundreds of acres of very private unexplored Devonshire countryside, thanks to an agreement with one of the county's biggest landowners - Clinton Devon Estates.
In 2008, we expanded our business relationship and amassed access to thousands of acres across the South West including the Combe Sydenham Estate (bordering Exmoor).
From these rights we have developed our 'trec days'. These are adventurous days for those wishing to drive their own 4 wheel drive vehicle. All participants are impressed, not just by their driving skill, but also the dramatic scenery, the undulating hills and valleys, the tall tree woods and water areas.
The 'trec days' give the opportunity for environmentally aware off-road terrain users to take part in the exclusive days with families and friends. These enable participants, at a first hand level, to cross some of the most spectacular areas in the South West of England, with unique plant and animal species. Much of the area you will travel over are are either 'no go!' or 'restricted access' sites, and many designated as 'areas of special scientific interest', thus giving nearly exclusive use to Land Rover Experience West Country convoy trips.
Trips are given a 'Grade'. That is to say, some are 'beginner-friendly', some allow for vehicles which have restricted ground clearance and others have tracks which represent a significant challenge where some off road experience will be vital. Details are available from us allowing you to choose the appropriate 'Grade' for your enjoyment. Within our discussions with the Land Owners, we have been given access to new territories. For our 'regulars' we are confident that they will enjoy exploring some new, adventurous, exploratory and challenging areas.
We aim to blend a feeling of achievement with a family day out - our trips always end in a social gathering, such as afternoon cream tea or tail gate tea with home made cake! Whichever, the stories of close encounters begin. . . . . no doubt well over-the-top by the time home is reached with tales of crossing terrain like Mount Everest!
The cost is £125.00 including VAT per vehicle with up to 4 occupants. Additional occupants are an extra £10.00 per person.
